Opened in 1922, The Victory Hall is the community’s historic meeting place and venue for all events and is available for hire by all. Rooms range from the large hall with stage and dance floor, smaller but flexible meeting rooms, ample nearby parking, kitchen, and excellent communication links. The hall is registered with the Charity Commission as The Victory Hall Charitable Incorporated Organisation, Number 1171079.

The Victory Hall opened in 1922 having been built by public subscription as a tribute to those from the village who had fallen in the First World War, to provide a village hall and community meeting place. The architecture was influenced by the ‘Arts & Craft’ movement pioneered by William Morris and others. The Victory Hall is on national and local registers of monuments

The Victory Hall is a charitable trust for the benefit of the local community. It is also available for hire by others from outside the community, the hire fees providing for the upkeep and maintenance of the building. It is managed by trustees elected from the parishioners of Dalston.

The Victory Hall had a complete refurbishment in 2019. This included 6 new toilets, a new accessible toilet and shower, a new kitchen/bar, and redecoration. It also included full interactive presentation facilities and sound system with a hearing loop.

The new facilities were designed by Tim Brown of Ashton Design, Brampton, and the construction was undertaken by McKnight and Son of Carlisle. The Victory Hall now has modern facilities for a range of activities and functions while still retaining its historic charm and character.

The ACRE Hallmark scheme is a quality standard for the management of community buildings and village halls. The Victory Hall has been awarded Hallmark 1 status.
